Certificate in Assistant Merchandiser Training

 


Course Objective:


To equip trainees with basic skills in merchandising strategies and procedures, analysing and selecting service suppliers, cost calculation, quotation, understanding import and export procedures and basic logistics management, in order to open door for trainees to get prepared for merchandising and related jobs.

 


Course Content:


This course will be conducted in English and is suitable for non-Chinese speaking eligible employees in Hong Kong who are unemployed or non-engaged. The course will introduce the industry, basic merchandising concepts, strategies and procedures, merchandising rules and regulations, quotation and cost calculation, analysis and selection of suppliers, quality control and assurance, basic computer operations and e-commerce, payment in international trades, import and export procedures, understanding and application of inventory management, logistics management, guide to insurance, generic skills including vocational Cantonese, personal attributes and job search skills.

 


Entry Requirements:



  1. Completion of Form 5 or above, or completion of Form 3 with at least 2 years’ working experience;

  2. Possess basic computer knowledge;

  3. Possess basic written and spoken English proficiency;

  4. Interest in merchandising or related work; and

  5. Demonstrate inclination for employment at the admission interview.

 


Course Duration:


136 hours (approximately 4-5 weeks)
