Certificate in Barista Training

 


Course Objective:


To enable trainees to understand and grasp basic knowledge and skills of Barista, to understand the basic knowledge and culture of coffee, to handle different coffee modulation techniques, to understand the operation of a coffee shop, and help them secure an employment as a Barista.

 


Course Content:


This course will be conducted in English and is suitable for non-Chinese speaking eligible employees in Hong Kong who are unemployed or non-engaged. The course will introduce the industry, basic knowledge of coffee, knowledge and skills of coffee tasting , basic operation of coffee grinder and coffee machine, coffee modulation techniques, customer service skills, basic knowledge in food hygiene, daily operation of a coffee shop, first aid training, other common drinks modulation techniques in coffee shop, different kinds of cakes in coffee shop, and generic skills including vocational Cantonese, communication skills, job search skills, etc.

 


Entry Requirements:



  1. Completion of Form 3, or Completion of Primary 6 with at least 2 years working experience;

  2. Possess English literacy skills and understand basic Cantonese;

  3. Interest in Barista or related work; and

  4. Demonstrate inclination for employment at the admission interview.

 


Course Duration:


144 hours (approximately 4–5 weeks)
