Module Certificate in Vocational Putonghua I

 


Course Objective:


To teach trainees basic phonetic knowledge, to learn about conversational usage and important glossary used in the business community and in everyday communication, to acquire basic communication ability, and improve the skill in using Putonghua at work.

 


Course Content:


This course will be conducted in English and is suitable for non-Chinese speaking eligible employees in Hong Kong. The course will introduce Phonetic training, including consonant, vowels, tone, tonal Modification and soft tone, adding “Er” sound and multi-sound, Pinyin, compare the use of words and phrases in Putonghua and Cantonese, and compare the grammar of Putonghua and Cantonese; Conversation training, including salutation and greeting, quantity and time, seasons and weather, transportation, places in Hong Kong, use of Putonghua in the office setting, use of Putonghua in retailing business, use of Putonghua in the service industry, use of Putonghua in the tourism industry, and job interviews.

 


Entry Requirements:



  1. Completion of Form 3 or above, or completion of Primary 6 and with 2 years working experience; and

  2. Possess basic English literacy skills.

60 hours

Half day or evening
