Background

With the re-positioning of ERB in 2008, our training programmes have become more versatile and would better meet the needs of our service targets. To ensure that our programmes are compatible with the market needs and industrial development, ERB hopes to invite experienced practitioners in various industries as Technical Advisors to participate in the course development and quality assurance processes of ERB. There will be several Technical Advisors in each industry and their professional input will greatly enhance the practicality of our courses.

Major roles and responsibilities of Technical Advisors


  • To comment on the design of our courses, give professional advice on the training facilities and other logistical arrangements required for the courses, and assist the Executive Office to conduct centre inspection;

  • To review written examination papers and sample scripts to ensure that the assessments reflect the learning outcomes of the courses; and

  • To moderate the skills assessments conducted by internal assessors to ensure consistency

Joining the team of Technical Advisors

To ensure that the contributions from Technical Advisors will be strongly recognized and of professional standards, the appointees:



  • should be experienced practitioners serving or had served in related sector(s);

  • should possess a recognized degree in related subjects (Flexibility on the requirements on academic qualification will be allowed, depending on the nature and requirements in the industry);

  • should have at least 10 years’ relevant working experience with no less than 5 years’ supervisory experience in the industrial sector(s);

  • should preferably have training / teaching experience in the subject / trade concerned;

  • should preferably have experience in accreditation / audit / vocational assessment experience
