ERB Training Allowance for Placement-tied courses(effective 3 April 2009)
Following a decision made by the Chief Executive-in-Council in October 2007, the ERB extended the eligibility criteria for its courses and services to include people aged 15 or above and with education at sub-degree level or below, offering a wide variety of courses to cater for the needs of the workforce and the society at large. Full-time placement-tied courses are offered free of charge for the unemployed or non-engaged with the provision of training allowance subject to trainees’ eligibility. New arrangement for training allowance is as follows:
As a discretionary and one-off arrangement, those who have submitted applications on or before 3 April 2009 to attend a full-time placement-tied certificate course, the rate of training allowance remains to be $153.8 for the one full-time placement-tied certificate course the applicant successfully enrolled in, regardless of applicant’s age and education level and whether it be the same or different course the applicant applied for. Thereafter, the rate of training allowance the applicant is eligible for shall follow the effective new rates. Any further enquires, please contact us or any training bodies. |
