Employees Retraining Board

Objectives

Established in October 2002 by the Employees Retraining Board ("ERB"), the Practical Skills Training and Assessment Centre ("PSTAC") is a centralized practical assessment center, which aims to ensure the quality of training courses through a fair, just and transparent mechanism of standardized practical assessments, so as to enhance the public recognition of the trainees' skills as well as their employment opportunities.

The PSTAC is now administering the practical assessments of the following courses:

• Certificate in Healthcare Massage


• Certificate in Care Worker Training


• Certificate in Elderly Home Care Worker Training


• Certificate in Post-natal Care Worker Training


• Certificate in Infant and Child Care Worker Training


• Certificate in Hotel Room Attendant Training


• Certificate in Hotel Public Area Cleaner Training


• Certificate in Laundry Assistant Training


• Certificate in Environmental Hygiene and Cleaning Worker Training


• Certificate in Catering and Banquet Attendant Training


• Module Certificate in Elderly Care


• Module Certificate in Elderly Nursing Care


• Module Certificate in Infant Care


• Module Certificate in Elementary Skills for Care Worker


• Module Certificate in Elementary Skills for Care Worker (Feeding Skills)

Fee

Standardized practical assessments and re-assessments for graduates from above training are free of charge.

Competency Cards and Certificates

Graduates from the Certificate in Local Domestic Helper Training who have passed the standardized practical assessments will be issued a “Competency Card” together with a graduation certificate. For those who have passed the assessments of other courses, graduation certificates will be issued.
