SME Mentorship Programme

The Employees Retraining Board (ERB) launched the “SME Mentorship Programme” in 2015 with a view to assisting SMEs to improve the quality of human resources systems and practices. Veteran practitioners volunteered to serve as mentors to share their professional advices and practical experience in manpower training and development with the SMEs taking a one-on-one interactive approach.

 

Features

  • All mentors are holding management positions in “Manpower Developers”* organisations and possess extensive knowledge and experience in the disciplines of human resources, training or corporate management
  • Mentors and mentees can customise the format and focus of exchange to fit respective needs
  • 18-month mentorship period (from September 2016 to March 2018) to optimise continuity
  • Participation is free of charge

 

Eligibility for SME Participant

  • Holding a valid Business Registration Certificate for a minimum of one year; and
  • Employing less than 50 persons in Hong Kong for non-manufacturing operation or less than 100 persons in Hong Kong for manufacturing operation; and
  • There is or has not been any event, litigation, arbitration or administrative proceedings which may adversely affect the operation or the continuation of its business; and
  • The applicant should be the owner or the person in charge of human resources or training of the organisation

* The ERB launched the “ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme” (the Scheme) in 2009 to recognise organisations which demonstrate outstanding achievements in manpower training and development as “Manpower Developers” (MDs). As at April 2016, there are a total of 386 MDs straddling 30 industries.
