ERB to Pilot Online Learning to Support Trainees in Resuming Studies

In light of the severe situation of the novel coronavirus infection, and to tie in with the stepped up preventive measures implemented by the Government, the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) announces that the face to face training mode of ERB training courses will continue to be suspended in a bid to lower the risk of spread of virus infection due to social gatherings and contacts. Meanwhile, ERB will be introducing the online interactive learning arrangement starting from 6 April 2020 on a pilot and limited basis to support trainees in resuming studies during infection control.

As a start, over 30 training courses straddling 15 industry categories will be delivered through online mode at the first stage. Seven training bodies will be offering the relevant courses. With the aid of the online video system, instructors will deliver training on the theoretical part of the courses and trainees can attend classes at home using their computer or mobile devices. The part on skill practices will be conducted when the face to face training mode resumes. The online learning course list will be uploaded on the ERB corporate website from 6 April 2020 onwards.

ERB will closely monitor the latest epidemic development. With the health of trainees and general public safeguarded being the top priority, and when the infection shows signs of slowing down, ERB is actively preparing for the gradual resumption of classes and make further announcement when appropriate.

Should trainees and members of the public have any enquiries, please contact respective training bodies direct. For other queries, please call ERB hotline 182 182 or visit the ERB website: www.erb.org.
