“Employer Sharing Session on Recruiting Part-time Employees” - Event Highlights

The ERB organised an “Employer Sharing Session on Recruiting Part-time Employees” on 15 March 2017. Around 60 representatives of employer organisations and training bodies attended.

During the sharing session, representative of the ERB introduced the training courses and employer services of the ERB, and released findings of “Topical Survey on Recruiting Part-time Employees”. Mr. Yuen Siu-cheuk (Manager) and Ms. Sammi Lam (Project Coordinator) from the Department of Employment Services, Hong Kong College of Technology, updated service progress and challenges they encountered in placing ERB graduate trainees into part-time jobs, and introduced the ERB “Smart Starter” referral platform for part-time jobs serving ERB graduates of new arrivals status. Ms. Ivy Poon, Training & Development Manager (HK & Overseas) of Pacific Coffee Company Limited, shared her valuable experiences in recruiting and training part-time employees.

During the case discussion session, participants were divided into groups and discussed the considerations and measures of recruiting part-time employees from various backgrounds.
