He expressed his thanks to ERB for their continuous efforts in coinciding with the Government's policy objectives. He said that for years, ERB has kept abreast of the times to launch innovative courses and services to nurture talents for various industries and help unleash the potential of the labour force.  Dr. Law said the SAR Government has been encouraging the public to pursue continuing education, to enrich their job skills and prepare them for the rapidly changing employment environment.  The Government has injected $10 billion into the Continuing Education Fund to support the implementation of various enhancement measures, with a view to encouraging the public to pursue continuing education and self-enhancement.

The ERB Chairman Professor Leung said in his opening address that ERB has specially arranged the screening of a local film “Men On The Dragon” prior to the Presentation Ceremony this year with a view to promoting the unyielding mindset in overcoming odds in life and adding positive energy to the society. Around 800 ERB trainees, members of the public and social groups with special needs watched the film screening.  Professor Leung described ERB as a boat having set sail for 26 years.  With the collective efforts of employers, training bodies and instructors on board, and the support of other stakeholders along the way, hundreds of thousands of trainees have landed on the employment market.

The “ERB Annual Award Presentation Ceremony” is organised to acknowledge the invaluable support of employers, training bodies and instructors, and to commend the outstanding achievements of trainees.  This year, altogether 104 awards were presented to 40 employers, 20 training bodies, 13 instructors and 20 ERB trainees.
