Smart Baby Care “Continuing Professional Development Scheme” (2024-25)

“Smart Baby Care” launched the “Continuing Professional Development Scheme” (CPD Scheme) in January 2022 to encourage helpers to pursue continuous learning, enhance professional knowledge, skills and conduct, and to enhance employers’ confidence in hiring them. Helpers who have completed designated courses and/or training activity hours within the CPD period will be awarded an electronic recognition letter by ERB via the “ERB Helper App”. Employers can also view the referred helpers’ recognition record via the “ERB Home Services” App.


Details
Target
  1. Helpers who have registered in “Smart Baby Care” and have passed the standardised practical assessment in relevant courses, and
  2. have registered as "ERB Helper App" users
Period 2 years ( 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025)
CPD requirements
  1. Completion of not less than 3 designated Skills Upgrading Courses and/or training activities* (including workshops and learning enrichment activities); and
  2. Accumulated not less than 12 course/activity hours
Recognition Helpers who have fulfilled the CPD requirements will be awarded a recognition letter. The CPD records will be settled for each year. Helpers concerned will be informed of the result in the following schedule via the “ERB Helper App” or SMS:
  • Result notification for the 1st CPD year: March 2025
  • Result notification for the 2nd CPD year: March 2026
Notes to Helpers
  1. Helpers who have fulfilled the CPD requirement in the 1st CPD year (1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024) will receive the recognition letter^ for “CPD Scheme (2024-25)” after the settlement of the 1st CPD year.
    (If helpers have fulfilled the CPD requirement consecutively in the 2nd CPD year (1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025), no letter will be issued again.)
  2. Helpers who have fulfilled the CPD requirements in the 2nd CPD year will receive the recognition letter for “CPD Scheme (2024-25)” after the settlement of the 2nd CPD year.

*At least 1 designated post-natal care and infant & child care related Skills Upgrading Course or designated training activity organised by “Smart Baby Care”.
^Helpers can only receive the recognition letter via “ERB Helper App”. No other means such as email or mail will be arranged by ERB.

Workshops & Other Learning Activities

“Smart Baby Care” organises briefing sessions, practical workshops and sharing sessions regularly for post-natal care and infant and child care helpers to enhance their job skills and service quality on a continual basis.
