Practical Assessment Service

Objectives

The Practical Skills Training and Assessment Centre (PSTAC)*established in 2002 is a centralised practical assessment centre. It assures the quality of graduate trainees through a fair, just and transparent mechanism of standardised practical assessments, so as to enhance recognition of trainees' skill level.

The PSTAC administers the practical assessments of the following courses:

  • Foundation Certificate in Domestic Helper Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Care Worker Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Care-related Support Worker Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Caring Skills in Care-related Support Worker Training I (Part-time)
  • Foundation Certificate in Caring Skills in Care-related Support Worker Training II (Part-time)
  • Foundation Certificate in Elderly Care Worker Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Post-natal Care Worker Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Infant and Child Care Worker Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Hotel Room Attendant Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Laundry Assistant Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Environmental Hygiene and Cleaning Worker Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Catering and Banquet Attendant Training
  • Foundation Certificate in Infant Care (Part-time)
  • Foundation Certificate in Practical Skills for Care Worker II (Lifting and Transfer) (Part-time)
  • Foundation Certificate in Practical Skills for Care Worker II (Feeding Skills) (Part-time)
  • Foundation Certificate in Practical Skills for Care Worker II (Incontinence Care) (Part-time)

* PSTAC has been awarded the Certificate of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

 

Fee

Standardised practical assessments and re-assessments for graduates of the above courses are free of charge.

Competency Cards and Certificates

Graduates of the “Foundation Certificate in Domestic Helper Training” course, having passed the standardised practical assessments, will be issued a “Competency Card” together with a graduation certificate. For graduates passing assessments of other courses, only graduation certificates will be issued.
