ERB Courses

ERB training courses are provided to assist service targets in entering the employment market and continuously upgrading their skills. Eligible employees of Hong Kong aged 15 or above can enrol in ERB training courses offered by the appointed Training Bodies.

Course Categories

ERB offers a wide variety of training courses to eligible employees of Hong Kong.

Placement-tied Courses Full-time courses on vocational and professional education and training to support the unemployed in acquiring industry-specific vocational skills. These courses are offered free of charge. Skills Upgrading Courses Part-time training courses to support trainees in skills upgrading. Skills upgrading courses are non-placement-tied courses which are fee-charging and fees payable are based on the amounts stipulated at the time of application. Eligible trainees can apply for course fee waiver or fee subsidies. Generic Skills Courses Training of transferable skills applicable in different industries including foundation skills (English, Putonghua, and IT Applications) and personal attributes. Generic skills courses are non-placement-tied courses which are fee-charging and fees payable are based on the amounts stipulated at the time of application. Eligible trainees can apply for course fee waiver or fee subsidies. Courses for Specific Service Targets Dedicated courses for new arrivals, persons with disabilities and persons recovered from work injuries, ethnic minorities, rehabilitated ex-drug abusers and ex-offenders to cater for their training and employment needs. Youth Training Courses A variety of training options for young people including the “Youth Training Programmes” and featured courses.

Supporting Organisation Scheme Representatives of associations and professional bodies of various industries show support and participate in promoting ERB training courses.
Continuous Skills Upgrading Certification Scheme Trainees are eligible to apply for a “Certificate for Continuous Skills Upgrading” upon successful completion of three Skills Upgrading Courses under the same industry category within a two-year period.
