Courses for Specific Service Targets

Dedicated courses are provided for youth and specific service targets including new arrivals, persons with disabilities and persons recovered from work injuries, ethnic minorities, rehabilitated ex-drug abusers and ex-offenders, to cater for their training and employment needs. These courses cover vocational and professional education and training, generic skills training and career planning.

About Training Courses for Ethnic Minorities

The Employees Retraining Board (ERB) is dedicated to assisting eligible employees of Hong Kong of non-Chinese origin, in particular the ethnic minorities, to broaden their opportunities through the provision of suitable training and employment services. These dedicated services assist them to integrate into the society and strive for the well-being of themselves and their families.

ERB also subsidies Training Bodies to develop supplementary training materials and provide learning support services with a view to facilitating the ethnic minorities who can speak and comprehend Cantonese to attend other training courses for the general public.

      Course Fee and Allowance

      Full-time placement-tied courses tailored for the unemployed are offered free of charge and retraining allowance is payable to trainees attending placement-tied courses with duration of seven days or more and fulfilling the stipulated eligibility criteria. Non-placement-tied courses are fee-charging and fees payable are based on the amounts stipulated at the time of application. Applicants with nil income or monthly income at or below $14,000 can apply for course fee waiver. Applicants with monthly income higher than $14,000 can apply for course fee subsidies. “Highly Subsidised Fee” and “Normal Subsidised Fee” of individual courses will be payable respectively by applicants with monthly income between $14,001 and $22,000 and those with monthly income above $22,000. Applicants should refer to the latest Course Prospectus for detailed information on retraining allowance and course fee.
